Refrigerated Goods

We have shippers who source from smaller farms with simple processes, especially with produce. Some of those bills of lading are pre-printed forms that have set temperatures, which may not be accurate for each type of produce. We call each driver to confirm the temperature setting to discuss on a recorded line. Our commitment is not just to communicate it, but to make sure it happens so you do not have a problem. Due to our diligence, and our higher than average insurance, we have ZERO claims per year. We anticipate risk and proactively emphasize the temperature requirements on rate confirmations, every check call, text, and email. With our phone calls recorded, your produce is protected.

Reliability

When we quote you a price, it is for a real truck at the fair market rate. We quote your load to move it on a reliable truck. Working with shippers of all kinds, and freight of all kinds; we are highly qualified to handle any shipping structure. Do you have a few loads a day? Once a month? Full truck load, or less than load? Prefer local drivers who know the area? We have consistent drivers for shippers in areas known to be tight. Many shippers have their own fleets as well as utilizing local trucking companies. Often, we fill-in with our reliable drivers to cover seasonal fluctuations, vacations, and illnesses. This helps protect efficiency while reducing lay-offs and/or unemployment.

24/7 Phone Coverage

We work when you work, and anytime freight is moving. Protecting your cargo is done by answering the phone. Carriers call with questions about locations, receiving hours, check-in points, lumper services, and temperature confirmation. Open communication 24/7 will decrease your odds of a claim.

Accurate Updates

We can help the process run smoothly when we are in contact and know what's happening. When we know of any delays or potential delays, loaded time, hour from delivery, arrival time, empty time, etc., we can avoid problems. In the event of accessorial, we are happy to compensate when we are involved in, and are given the chance to help correct the problem.

For example, getting a call from an angry driver that he's been waiting to unload for 5 hours doesn't help anyone. We know many brokers don't answer their phone. We know getting a live person after hours or on holidays or weekends is difficult. At Moreland Transport, we are here for you. Getting us involved early protects us all from aggravation, wasted time, loss of next load, and poor service to our customer.

Continuous Communication

We provide helpful and specific information on routes, dock and facility hours, layout, contacts, etc. Moreland drivers know that we know more than anyone they might get to answer a phone at delivery location.  General shipper information is not as accurate as the information we have from the contact within the company, so our drivers call us (not the customer or shipper directly).

For example: We may know the facility is waiting, and holding their staff, even paying overtime awaiting the delivery into the evening. If a driver calls the location, he/she may be told the general rule that "we only receive until 6 pm." If the driver acts on the general information, we all face conflict and expense.
